A Step by Step Guide to Growing Medical Cannabis Indoors
As you start growing medical cannabis indoors, it is important to take the right steps to have a successful harvest. Follow our guide to ensure you are set up properly.
Step 1: Choose Your Space
When determining the best indoor medical cannabis growing space, look at areas such as a spare room, garage, or closet. A grow tent is also a great option for indoors. This is also a good time to figure out how many plants you will be growing. Also, be sure to consider access to water, electricity, and fresh air.
Step 2: Get Some Equipment
After you decide on your location, it is time to look into getting the right tools and equipment for growing medical cannabis indoors. You will need indoor grow pots, lights, growing medium and nutrients, and possibly a grow tent. Our medical cannabis grow tent kits have everything you need to get started.
Step 3: Germinating Your Seeds
Once you have acquired female seeds, it is time to germinate them. An easy way to germinate is to use a tool called a Rapid Rooter, which helps to quickly germinate. Another easy way is to place your seeds into a moist paper towel on a plate and then cover it with another plate. Check often and re-moisten where needed. After a few days, your seeds will have sprouted and can be place into about 1 inch deep into moist grow medium.
Step 4: Growing the Plants
As your plants begin to grow, this is the vegetative stage, it is important that they receive appropriate water, light, and nutrients. Make sure you do not overwater, check the dampness of the soil to determine when more water is needed. For lighting, during the vegetative stage, your plant will want 18 hours of light a day, and once it hits the flowering stage it will need 12 hours of light, 12 hours of dark.
Step 5: Nutrients, Fertilizers, and Plant Maturity
As you continue to grow your plants, be sure to purchase a good nutrient or fertilizer supplement. Our staff can help you determine which one is best for your grow setup. After a few weeks, your plant will switch to the flowering stage and begin to start producing buds.
Once you have noticed that your plant has stopped producing new white hairs, it is time to harvest your buds. Then it is time to trim your buds and hang them up to dry and cure.
